gal_lg81Car sharing finally comes to Denver! Occasional Car now has two Honda Civic hybrids available for rental by the hour, in two separate locations on Capitol Hill. The company hopes to place other cars around Denver in the next few months.

Now if it would only come to Broomfield…yeah, right!

That’s awesome. I’ve been watching the car clubs in san fran with jealous eyes for a while. Being a car-less individual, this might be good for the occasional times one would be convenient.

Yeah, I think car sharing is a great idea for people like me, who work at home and generally don’t need a car all that much. It’s perfect for running errands or doing a day trip or something similar.

There is also a really great local, non-profit carshare organization in Denver called eGo CarShare. Check out http://www.carshare.org. They currently have 15 cars in their fleet and overall their rates are considerably lower, probably because they’re a non-profit.
