We arrived at 10 am, and our first orders of business were to buy fish tacos and listen to a local band. Dozens of bands played at the People’s Fair, including one of our favorites, Brethren Fast.
The turkey legs looked good against the City and County Building, but we skipped them. We had red velvet cake and ice cream on a stick instead, and a huge cherry limeade.
We skipped the vodka as well. Somewhere in Civic Center Park there was a wine tasting, which sounded tempting even at 10 in the morning.
All in all, we spent about $30 on food at the People’s Fair, not to mention my new hat.
On our way to the 0 bus back to the Baker neighborhood, we saw this lovely fellow.
