What is this box along Speer in Sunken Gardens Park? It looks like some kind of alien about to take off. Does it have something to do with traffic?

Dear God, what is that thing?

Tough to tell from the small picture, but my guess is an irrigation controller. The timer and control circuitry for the sprinklers.

Not in a big property. They’re computerized and radio controlled, and holes in the ground have a tendency to fill up with water…

Well, that makes a lot of sense. Instead of making people run all over the city to turn the sprinklers on and off, it can be done more remotely.
